Chilly and Cheese

This is my first post to this blog and I think it's the perfect time to start. The reason being that my best friend. Lizzy, and I challenged each other to take pictures over our lunch break to push our creative limits. I had been inspired all morning and was looking forward to the chance to break it out!

I noticed that my "extra cheese" on my Subway sandwich had accidentally been charged as extra bacon, which cost me an additional $.20. Oh, well... it still tasted good. By the time I had my food and I was in my car, however, I wasn't really feeling it. But... I wasn't going to let that stop me, it was a challenge afterall. Perhaps it was the fact that I found another car parked in my "usual" spot at the park and I had to make do with my 2nd favorite. Either way it ended up not mattering because after I finished my food I drove around to the lake and walked out to the boat dock.

I spent the hour photographing the ducks that paddled around in circles at the edges of the dock. It was like they were dancing for me. They'd float with the current for awhile, and when they got bored with that, they'd paddle their little legs behind them and splash in a circle with their friends and let the current carry them again. This continued for the rest of the time I had for lunch. I took pictures of my feet, my socks, and many pictures of my new duckie friends. I took my socks off and hung my toes in the still-icy lake just to be crazy (yeah, I'm really out there :D) It's such an amazing feeling to splash in a freezing cold lake then let them air dry (is that cold or what) and then to put my lovely socks back on and tuck my tooties into my shoes again.

On the way out of the park I stopped to spend out the rest of my camera battery photographing the buds on a tree at the enterance. These turned out to be some of my favorite shots of the hour.

All in all it was quite the beautiful day, if a bit cold. It's so nice to take a break from the routine of the day and do something out of the ordinary. I love ruitine and habit and I rarely break from a method I enjoy, but I love that every day is different and even going to lunch I find that each time is unique.

PS - Just to be clear I'm posting this a day late :P Because I wanted to share photos and they weren't ready yesterday! So I figured as long as I posted this before lunch today I was good.
